Setting the Stage For Cannabis in Entertainment

Chris Sayegh - The Herbal Chef

Legal cannabis is the fastest-growing industry in the United States, with $2.4 billion of sales recorded in 2014, a number that is expected to reach $8 billion by 2019.  The ancillary revenue produced is even more impressive, with $2.60 of economic value entering the American economy for every $1 of legal cannabis sold.  To date, 40 states have passed laws that allow for the medical use of marijuana in some form.  A bill in both the U.S. House and Senate is receiving bi-partisan support that would remedy the state-federal conflict over medical marijuana law, removing marijuana out of the Schedule I Controlled Substances list, creating access to banking services, and ending the DEA imposed block preventing further research of medical benefits of cannabis. The tidal wave of change is coming, and there is an undeniable momentum that neither states nor the feds can stop.  Whentiming meets opportunity, it has the potential to effectuate incredible change in our world.  Chris Sayegh, also known as The Herbal Chef, is an agent of change who will help change the perception, culture, and attitude of the legal cannabis industry moving forward.

Chris is in love with food and life.  A born perfectionist who thrives under pressure, his approach to food is uncompromising in quality, which is evidenced through some of the stunning photos you can view on his website, www.theherbalchef.com, and on his Instagram page, @theherbalchef.  Chris infuses his creations with cannabis, and treats it, quite simply, as “another herb.”

A walking brand full of charisma and charm, Chris has his sights set on becoming the world’s first cannabis celebrity chef, simultaneously and effortlessly educating his audience while entertaining them at the same time.  Currently, Chris is producing gourmet edibles, frozen CBD and THC-infused dinners, as well as catered and private dinners.  For those not familiar with CBD, it is a key ingredient in cannabis, along with THC, but is non-psychoactive, meaning it doesn’t make you “high” in the traditional sense.  Studies have shown that CBD has an almost miraculously positive impact on people with seizures and other medical disorders, exemplified by this article in CNN (http://www.cnn.com/2013/08/07/health/charlotte-child-medical-marijuana/), where a young child went from having 300 seizures a day to 2-3 per month, solely from using CBD oil.

Chris’ dinners are a personalized and all-encompassing experience.  Each guest receives a questionnaire that inquires into their experience and familiarity with cannabis, which assists Chris in creating the perfect dining experience.  The food menu is then customized based on the location and season.  Chris scouts local farming connections, and hand picks everything from local farms directly to ensure optimal freshness.

As the undeniable momentum builds towards federal legalization and public perception clearly shifts in the same direction, The Herbal Chef will play a major role in helping to usher in the new era of legal cannabis.

CannaMoms began as a group of passionate mothers advocating for the right and option to utilize cannabis in the care of their own critically-ill children. Knowing that working as a group of mothers all with the same message would have a much greater impact than any one mother working on her own, Jacel Delgadillo, Moriah Barnhart, and Renee Petro formally united as CannaMoms in 2014. They set out to tell the stories of their own children's journeys, while educating the public on the medicinal benefits of cannabis, in order to create changes in the laws and in healthcare, as well as to spare any child the needless suffering that their own had endured.

CannaMoms quickly grew to include mothers nationwide sharing the same mission and the same message. They have taken part in documentaries in the United States, Japan, and Brazil; they have done media in Florida, Los Angeles, New York, Denver, Chicago, and have been featured in nationwide media; they have provided live and filmed testimonial for Senate and House hearings, as well as for several business, university, and educational seminars and conferences.

CannaMoms fight diligently for common sense legislation, for rights and options for every parent in the care of their own children, and to provide other parents and their babies with hope, help, resources, and community. CannaMoms have spent tireless hours informing the public of the medicinal benefits of cannabis while advocating for more compassionate, more effective, and less harmful options for the treatment of children with critical illnesses. Their personal hardships and experiences in the care of their own children lend them the knowledge required to help other parents of critically ill children, and much of their time and effort is spent working directly with other families nationwide and worldwide.
